South Cheshire Services has been trading since 1991 and was initially involved in plant hire, haulage, earthmoving, road construction, groundwork’s sub contracting and training. 

Initially the training element was a small part of the operations of the company, with the focus being on the CTA card scheme, the one day health and safety course and general safety courses such as abrasive wheels and manual handling.  In 2001 it was decided to focus on the training field and since then the company has grown to meet the needs of industry and its clients in a range of fields such as Construction, Mining, Waste, Agriculture, Quarrying, Road Haulage and Industry in general.  This was when the branding of SCS Training was introduced

 Work is undertaken at our training centre in Cheshire and at client’s premises throughout the UK and Ireland.

South Cheshire Services are approved for a range of NVQ qualifications in level 2 and level 3, and include areas such as Plant and Construction Operations, Plant Maintenance and Site Logistics, Steel Fixer and Occupational Works Supervisors.

We are an approved CPCS test centre for a range of categories and employ CPCS approved trainers.  We offer bespoke training and assessment where the needs of the client make this the best option.

South Cheshire Services carry out safety courses from ½ day upwards, covering topics such as safety awareness, manual handling, abrasive wheels (both bench and hand held machines) quickhitch training and assessments, vehicle marshalling, lifting with plant and slinger signaller for lifting with plant machinery.

The training and assessment team, whether employed or sub contracted are all chosen for their experience, practical ability, qualifications, and professional approach to the process of training and assessment. 

The qualifications for the instructors and assessors vary from assessor approvals for NVQ’s, City and Guilds training and development qualifications, Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector courses, Instructional Techniques and Training and Development NVQ’s.  The courses in Learning and Development are supported by specific industry courses such as 5 Day SMSTS and PMSTS courses, CPCS approval, and Construction Awards Alliance approval.
